Assistance Dogs UK is a voluntary coalition of assistance dog charities that have been accredited by Assistance Dogs International (ADI) and/or The International Guide Dog Federation (IGDF).

ADUK is looking for an experienced and dedicated professional to be part of our ambitious team at a key time for the charity.

The person who currently leads ADUK’s education and training work is moving into an exciting new role within our team. We’re now looking for someone to take on part of their work, alongside some exciting new initiatives we want to develop. We’re not looking for a direct replacement – we want someone who will relish the opportunity to shape and grow this role into something truly impactful, supporting our work and strengthening the sector.

While the contract is initially for one year, if successful we would be looking to extend the role beyond that, giving the right candidate the chance to make a lasting difference.

Training and Education Coordinator

Key Purpose of Role: The postholder will play a key role in strengthening knowledge, understanding, and best practice both within the sector and externally with service providers and the public, helping to remove barriers for assistance dog partnerships.

This remote role involves delivering training nationally, so travel will be required. The exact amount of travel and requirement for in-person attendance to engagements will vary depending on stakeholder demand, and organisational need, but we expect it to be frequent. Some trips may also require overnight stays. However, engagements in nearby areas can often be scheduled in close succession to make travel more efficient. Our team manage their own diaries, so unless there is a specific engagement that requires attendance on a fixed date, you will have flexibility in scheduling and travel. All travel expenses will be covered.

Role Title: Training and Education Coordinator
Contact Type: Initial 1 year role with opportunity to extend
Hours: 28 hours per week (0.8 FTE)
Salary Salary: £30,000 per annum pro-rata (£24,000 for 28 hours) + 4% pension contribution
Holiday Holiday: 27 days per annum (FTE), plus bank holidays
Location: Home-based with national travel (expenses covered)
