Job Description:
To provide a safe and secure environment for staff, visitors, and volunteers by responding to, and delivering a range of maintenance tasks.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure the Grange Estate buildings and grounds are maintained to a high standard of repair providing a safe and professional environment that is always presented at its best internally/externally on a day-to-day basis. Assessing maintenance needs to ‘make-safe’ and complete the works quickly and effectively.
- Undertake repairs and maintenance to the buildings to a consistently high standard. Tasks will include joinery, plumbing, glazing, electrical repairs/ renovations, decorating, light renovations, Site equipment maintained (i.e. washing machines/tumble dryers), etc. Risk Assessing with an agile approach with strict adherence to legal H&S standards at all times.
- Utilise the Maintenance Management System prioritising the maintenance work and keeping accurate records of all works completed and ensuring excellent communication with colleagues and peers.
- Undertake and accurately record the scheduled compliance checks: weekly, monthly, and quarterly relating to fire safety, legionella, site building PPM’s & maintenance equipment safety checks.
- Act as a site H&S representative at all times demonstrating vigilance and awareness of responsibilities relating to legal compliance. Always acting with professionalism.
- Attend to the security of site – locking/unlocking the site working closely with others to ensure site security.
- Support the Estates team in planning and delivering minor works and project programmes.
- Provide Facilities Support: setup/clear down rooms and the grounds for conferences, meetings, tours, and events; safely and effectively support colleagues across the site with office furniture moves and the distribution of deliveries.
- Supporting the front and back of house teams e.g. within The Grange Restaurant and Reception.

Skilled in a range of maintenance tasks, including plumbing, joinery, decorating, and general repairs.
Take pride in maintaining a safe, high-quality, and well-presented environment.
Proactive, reliable, and able to prioritise work effectively using maintenance systems.
Knowledgeable about Health & Safety standards, always working with care and compliance.
A flexible team player, willing to support wider site operations and events when needed.
