Last week, ADUK returned to Parliament with colleagues from the Fireworks Impact Coalition, a group of charities working together to secure a review of fireworks legislation so people and animals can be better protected and feel safer.

ADUK Ambassador Jordan attended with his assistance dog Teddy to explain the challenges that fireworks present for assistance dog partnerships each year. ADUK along with the coalition is not calling for an outright ban on fireworks. Instead, we want a closer look at when they are used, how responsibly they are handled and what can be done to reduce their impact.

We were encouraged to see 95 MPs attend the event and show support for a policy review. We’re grateful to every MP who took the time to engage with us on an issue that affects so many, and looking forward to strengthening these relationships.
